Health | Safety | Security Villa Augustina is located inside the gated community of Reserva Conchal, and access is limited to guests and employees. A large safe, located in the villa, can be used for all valuables including laptops and passports. The villa also provides a security alarm, which can be engaged upon leaving the property for extended periods. A Xerox copy of your passport should be kept on your person at all times.
Outside of Reserval Conchal, guests should observe normal precautions. We recommend not leaving anything inside your vehicle.
Costa Rica has a healtcare network that is very good and available to guests for a reasonable fee.

Currency The Colone is the Costa Rican currency unit but dollars are accepted everywhere. Most major credit cards are accepted and there are ATMs within the resort area. We do not recommend using travelers checks and avoid $100 bills. Most people working in the tourist industry speak at least nominal English but will be delighted if you practice your Spanish.
