Villa Augustina is located in the Reserva Conchal resort in the town of Brasilito, in the canton of Santa Cruz, provence of Guanacaste, Costa Rica. It is in the northwest part of the country approximately 25 kilometers north of Tamarindo, 10 kilometers south of Flamingo and 50 kilometers from the Liberia Airport. These are our recommendations for travel to and from the United States.
The most direct route is to fly into Liberia Airport (LIR) which is serviced by a variety of airlines most notably Continental (via Houston), Delta (via Atlanta, Los Angeles, and JFK New York), US Airways (via Charlotte, NC), American Airlines (via Miami and Dallas/Ft. Worth), and United Airlines (via Chicago). The airlines change schedules on a seasonal basis.
If you fly into San Jose Costa Rica, there are flights from San Jose to Tamarindo daily on either SANSA or Nature Air. The drive from San Jose to the property is approximately 4 1/2 hours. Tamarindo airport is about a 10 minute drive from Reserva Conchal.
The country is in the Central Time Zone and does not recognize daylight savings time.
Transportation During Your Stay
There are several methods of transportation available during your stay at Villa Augustina. We recommend renting a car, but if you choose not to, you can use the red taxis outside the airport. They charge a one way rate of 60 USD. The red taxi drivers provide a safe and comfortable ride to and from Reserva Conchal.
Once at the resort, you can call the resort shuttles for transportation throughout the resort. You can also take a shuttle to the rental office and take a taxi outside the resort for grocery shopping and dining.
Also, many of the local area attractions such as fine restaurants, ZipLine Tours, deep-sea fishing tours and others offer shuttle transportation of their own. This information is organized and available in a binder at Villa Augustina.
Of course, these convenient transportation methods are available even if you rent a car.

Renting a Car
If you plan to rent a car (recommended), we recommend Adobe Car Rental, which has a special rate for Villa Augustina guests, and offers two very convenient options.
In both options, you are greeted curbside at LIR airport by an Adobe rep. He will be holding a big sign with your name and number of people in your party.
Your transportation to Villa Augustina then depends on which option you selected when you reserved your Adobe rental car. Please read the Adobe Rental Agreement and fill out the form below.
Adobe Rep Shuttle Option

Shuttle to Villa Augustina & Rental Car/Cell Phone Drop Off at Villa Augustina Cost: $207 US includes 3 days car rental, cell phone , insurance, taxes- add $39/day each extra day
This option is advantagous for first-time visitors because they do not have to make the 45-minute drive themselves after arriving. You will be in your pool about 90 minutes after your plane touches down. Allows you to delay the rental procedure until you have settled at the villa instead of doing it immediately upon arrival.
You can choose to have the car & cell phone delivered at 3:00 PM on same day as arrival if your plane was scheduled to arrive by noon, or at 10:00 AM the next day if your flight was scheduled to arrive after noon.
After clearing Customs, simply step outside the airport and you will see an Adobe representative holding a big sign with your name and # in your party. He will load your bags onto a cart and walk you to an air-conditioned shuttle (which he leaves running so it's cool when you get in!) stocked with cold bottled water. He will make the 45-minute drive to Reserva Conchal, drive you through the security gate and to the rental office where he will wait for you to pick up your Villa Augustina keys and your resort IDs. Then he will shuttle you to Villa Augustina and bring your bags inside. You will be in the villa about 90 minutes after your plane lands.
An Adobe representative will deliver your car right to Villa Augustina on the date you arranged on your My Adobe Checklist, below. The Adobe rep will prepare your contract while you are still swimming! Simply show your passport, credit card and driver's license and you are done!
On day of departure from Costa Rica, you will make the 45-minute drive to Adobe Rental, just before the Liberia Airport, to return your car and cell phone. Adobe will shuttle you to the airport.
Drive Myself Option

After Customs, you are greeted by the Adobe representative who will show you to your curbside car where you will present your passport, credit card, and driver's license and sign the rental agreement. Make the 45-minute drive to Reserval Conchal, go through the security gate and go to the rental office where you can pick up your villa keys and IDs.
On date of departure, drop off the rental car and cell phone at the Adobe Car Rental, just before the LIR airport. An Adobe shuttle will take you to the airport.
